Growing up in the 80's, I was a tiny, gangly tomboy running around in the woods and splashing in the creeks of Pennsylvania's Amish Country, with visions of being 30. And a writer. And a skater. And a marine biologist. And an illustrator.
I never dreamed that by 20I0 I would be living in a gritty Pacific Northwest city, married, raising a family, and tending backyard chickens.
But here I am. A madcap gardener and voracious reader living with chronic mental illness and mood disorders (PPD/Bipolar 2/PTSD), an exhausted(ing?) introvert, obsessive dabbler, balterer, and kaomoji lover (see also).
I'm not a writer, photographer, skater, marine biologist, or an illustrator, but I love learning and I don't particularly care about good taste. Most of the time.
In 2013, I started Splash Of Paprika as a creative outlet, somewhere to write and share photos from time to time. I write about creating a garden and small urban farm on our 0.14-acre lot, books, sign language, songs, and once in a while some personal things, too. More general specifics on Splash Of Paprika are here.
